FAQs

The Most Common Questions We Hear About Braces

Still have questions?
When should my child see an orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial orthodontic evaluation around age 7. At this age, we can spot issues with jaw growth, spacing, and bite alignment—even if braces aren’t needed right away. Early evaluations allow us to guide growth and plan ahead for the best outcomes.

How long will my child need to wear braces?

Treatment length varies based on your child’s age, dental development, and the complexity of their case. Most kids wear braces for 18–24 months. We’ll give you a clear estimate during your consultation and keep you updated throughout the journey.

Do braces hurt?

It’s normal for children to feel some soreness after getting braces or adjustments, but this typically fades within a few days. We’ll offer tips for relief and are always here if your child has concerns or discomfort.

How do you handle sports and musical instruments?

You can still play your favorite sports or instruments while wearing braces, just with a few small adjustments. We provide custom mouthguards to protect your smile and share helpful tips to make playing and performing easy.
